Hello PL junkies!
After moving house twice in the last 6 months, I fell
a little behind on my weekly PL layouts…well, actually a lot behind! I was determined to catch up during the term 3 school holidays (I’m a teacher, so these two blissful weeks are open to creativity galore!)…
And I succeeded, yay!!
I have begun part 3 of my 2014 album, and I predict I will end up with a total of four albums for the year. All my albums have a black and white cover in different designs. I will post a flick through of the first two parts later on. This part uses a Heidi Swapp striped album, which I’m really happy with. It has scratched a little on the front with wear and tear which is a shame, but I’m more focused on the goodies inside.
For this title page I decided to challenge my usual colour palette and used some cards from a past Studio Calico PL kit and some cork embellishments to create an orangey-brown layout which is far removed from my usual obsession with turquoise, mint and pink.
I used some pale yellow thickers on a cork strip (btw, self adhesive cork is my new fav go to embellishment) for the title card. My main jumping off point was the “Tell your story” SC card where I picked my colour palette from.
I am really interested to learn more about letterpress techniques and adore this SC gold and soft cream card, which I decided to leave quite plain to draw your attention to the detail.
(Btw…I just realised there is a stray blue enamel dot on 2014! Woopsie!)
The rest of the layout echoes the orangey tones from that “Tell your story” card, and paired with a scattering of sequins and cork bits and bobs, I think it provides a refreshing start to my next PL volumes.
